“The Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar will visit Balochistan for consultation with provincial authorities in this regard,” the prime minister added as he addressed the possibility of a special relief package for Balochistan. He intimated this to the press as he toured Balochistan to survey the region after the recent seasonal monsoon rains have devastated the province.

The premier appreciated the provincial government’s response to the disaster while expressing sympathy for the damage caused by the torrential floods. He promised the federal government’s support, assuring all possible help and cooperation in this regard for the rehabilitation of people belonging to flood-stricken areas.
“Unfortunately, promises were made to Balochistan in the past but could not be fulfilled,” Khan said regretting the sidelining of the province in the past. “For Balochistan, our government has allocated the most funds in the PSDP,” he added, referring to the Public Sector Development Programme. “All relevant stakeholders are represented in the coordinating committee,” Umar said.
